Bengaluru Auto Driver’s Cool Idea to Teach Kannada Goes Viral

In Bengaluru, where language differences have sometimes caused arguments, one auto-rickshaw driver came up with a brilliant idea to help non-Kannada speakers learn the local language. This driver has a special leaflet inside his auto titled “Learn Kannada With Auto Kannadiga” that teaches passengers common Kannada phrases with their English translations.

Passengers can now pick up Kannada words like “Namaskara sir” (Hello, sir), “Elli idira” (Where are you?), “Yeshtu aaytu” (How much?), and “UPI idya athva cash aa?” (Is it UPI or cash?) while enjoying their ride. It’s like a mini Kannada class on wheels!

This smart idea quickly went viral after a passenger shared a picture of the leaflet on X (formerly Twitter). People online loved the driver’s creative way to bridge the language gap. One person commented, “This seems like a faster, cheaper way to learn Kannada,” while others called it a "genius" move.

The driver’s fun and educational approach made an impression on netizens, who praised him for turning a regular auto ride into a learning opportunity.

Just a month ago, there was a different incident in Bengaluru where an auto driver was arrested for yelling at a woman after she canceled her ride. The video of that went viral too, but this new story shows the positive side of Bengaluru's auto drivers.

This thoughtful auto driver proves that a simple idea can go a long way in promoting understanding and respect between people.
