"Elon Musk Calls Out Critics, Defends Trump as the ‘True Advocate for Democracy’ at Pennsylvania Rally"

Billionaire Elon Musk, speaking to a crowd in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, threw his support behind Donald Trump, calling out those who label the former president a "threat to democracy." Musk, at a town hall event in Lancaster, criticized people who accuse Trump of endangering democracy, saying they are the real threat.

During the lively session, Musk discussed many issues from space exploration and Tesla’s Cybertruck to voting rights, immigration, and artificial intelligence (AI). The event was organized to boost Trump’s campaign in key swing states as he prepares for the Nov. 5 presidential election against Kamala Harris.

Musk, who has pledged over $70 million to support Trump’s campaign through his Super PAC, took questions from the audience for nearly two hours. When asked if he was concerned that Trump might harm democracy due to his involvement in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Musk dismissed it, saying the events of that day have been exaggerated and misunderstood.

According to Musk, while Trump did ask people to "protest peacefully" on Jan. 6, he also urged them to “fight like hell” to stop the certification of Joe Biden's win. Musk told the audience he believed Trump genuinely wanted a peaceful protest, and those who view Trump as a threat to democracy may actually harm it more.

Musk also raised concerns about mail-in voting, saying it could be a "recipe for fraud." Though Musk encourages early voting, he warned that mail-in ballots, which gained popularity during the pandemic, may not be fully secure.

At the rally, Musk also surprised a woman by giving her a $1 million check as part of his "Super PAC’s giveaway" for supporters of the U.S. Constitution in swing states. Josh Fox, a UPS driver in Pennsylvania, who attended the rally said, "It’s cool and could help people.” He dismissed concerns about the giveaway’s legality, saying, “It’s just about supporting the Constitution.”

Throughout the session, Musk was praised by attendees and shared insights on issues like the importance of a strong U.S. birth rate, his support for AI regulation, and even his belief that Jesus was a real historical figure. He gave light-hearted responses to audience questions, including whether he’d ever consider buying the Chicago White Sox. Musk concluded with his advice for everyone: “Study physics.”
