"Mann Ki Baat: PM Modi Calls for Self-Reliance and Local Shopping This Festive Season"

In the 115th episode of his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged everyone in India to support the idea of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, or a self-reliant India. During his talk, he urged people to make “vocal for local” a part of their shopping habits, especially as they buy gifts for the festive season.

Supporting ‘Make in India’ Prime Minister Modi emphasized how important it is for India to grow self-reliant. "This new India is not just about ‘Make in India’; it’s about ‘Make for the World.’ We should aim to be a global leader in innovation and production," he said.

Modi highlighted several recent accomplishments in science and technology that showcase India’s self-reliant spirit. One example is the opening of Asia’s largest imaging telescope, MACE, in Hanle, Ladakh, at 4,300 meters above sea level. Despite extreme cold and low oxygen, Indian scientists successfully set up this telescope, which will help us explore the universe while showing India’s strength in innovation.

Indian Animation as a Rising Power PM Modi also praised India’s booming animation industry, describing it as a field that’s bringing fresh ideas and growth. "Animation is everywhere, from smartphones to virtual reality. India is on the verge of a new revolution in animation,” he said. He mentioned that India could soon become a leader in global animation.

Looking ahead to World Animation Day on October 28, the Prime Minister encouraged people to support India's animation industry and celebrate the country’s progress.
