Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared hopes for peace with more Arab countries once Israel's conflict with Iranian-backed groups Hamas and Hezbollah is resolved. Speaking to Israel's parliament, he said, “After Hamas no longer controls Gaza, and Hezbollah is no longer a threat on our northern border, we’re planning to secure both fronts. And after that, something even more important awaits.”
Netanyahu expressed his aim to expand on the Abraham Accords, which normalized ties between Israel and four Arab nations: UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. Now, with the support of the United States, Israel aims to bring more countries into peace agreements, including Saudi Arabia. So far, Saudi Arabia has stated it won’t recognize Israel until a Palestinian state is established.
“These countries and others see the impact of our actions against those who attack us, and they share our vision for a safer, more prosperous Middle East,” Netanyahu stated.
