PM Modi and Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez Inaugurate India’s First Private Military Aircraft Plant by Tata-Airbus in Vadodara"

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez inaugurated India’s first private military aircraft manufacturing plant in Vadodara on Monday. The Tata Aircraft Complex, built in partnership with Airbus, will assemble C-295 aircraft in India, marking a big milestone for the country’s “Make in India” initiative.

"This is my friend Pedro Sanchez's first visit to India, and today we’re strengthening the bond between India and Spain," said PM Modi. "This new C-295 aircraft factory is a major step for our 'Make in India, Make for the World' mission, bringing India closer to becoming a global manufacturing hub."

The two leaders participated in a roadshow through Vadodara, waving to crowds from an open jeep as they journeyed from the airport to the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus.

The C-295 program will produce a total of 56 aircraft, with 16 units delivered by Airbus from Spain and 40 manufactured in India by Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. This plant is the first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft in India, and it represents a powerful step forward in India's aerospace capabilities.

Spanish PM Sanchez applauded Modi’s vision for transforming India, saying, “Today is about more than opening a state-of-the-art facility. It's a testament to your vision, Prime Minister Modi, of turning India into a center for global business and investment."

Tribute to Ratan Tata

Modi paid tribute to the late Ratan Tata, acknowledging his dedication to India's industrial progress. “If Ratan Tata were here today, he would be proud. This C-295 factory reflects the spirit of New India. Just as Gujarat began producing train coaches during my tenure as Chief Minister, now we’re set to export aircraft to other countries in the future.”
