The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor, Shaktikanta Das, has again been named the world’s top central banker by the US-based Global Finance magazine. This is the second year in a row he has won this honor, which recognizes top performance in managing a country’s economy.
The award, presented in Washington, D.C., was given for Das’s “A+” rating on Global Finance’s Central Bank Report Cards for 2024. This ranking system, which goes from A (best) to F (worst), judges central bankers on how well they manage inflation, help grow the economy, keep currency stable, and set interest rates.
Along with Das, two other central bankers received an A+ rating: Christian Kettel Thomsen from Denmark and Thomas Jordan from Switzerland.
According to Global Finance, this award is very prestigious and is noted by top corporate and finance leaders who use it to make smart decisions for multinational companies and financial institutions
