At a press conference after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) national meeting, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale emphasized the importance of Hindu unity to fight against forces that divide people based on religion, caste, and ideas. He echoed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's slogan, "batengey toh katengey," which means "if we are divided, we will fall."
Hosabale warned, "If we separate ourselves by language, state, or caste, we will be destroyed," pointing out the dangers of social division. He stressed that Hindu unity is crucial for a strong and resilient society. "Those who ignore Hindu values invite problems and lose their homes, families, and places of worship," he said, showing the RSS's commitment to promoting unity.
During the briefing, Hosabale mentioned that just talking about unity isn’t enough; real actions must be taken to make it part of everyday life. He noted that more and more groups are supporting Hindu unity, stating, "Hindu unity is good for everyone and can lead to happiness and peace worldwide."
He also warned against groups trying to divide Hindus and said it is important to stay alert to these threats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke about Hindu unity, saying, "If we are divided, those who want to celebrate division will rejoice."
On the ongoing court case about the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah in Mathura, Hosabale said he hopes for a quick resolution, urging people to trust the courts. He discussed the controversial Waqf (Amendment) Bill, saying it’s not just a problem for one community, and a parliamentary committee is seeking input from various groups about it.
Regarding the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Hosabale said Chief Minister Adityanath wants this year's event to be even more significant than before. He encouraged tribal communities to join, framing the Kumbh as a celebration of cultural unity.
When asked about any tensions between the RSS and the BJP, Hosabale rejected those claims, insisting that the RSS has good relationships with all political parties.
He discussed the influence of social media on youth, suggesting that there should be rules to reduce negative effects, while also highlighting the need for good values in families and society. He noted the RSS's role in promoting social responsibility and helping people affected by issues like forced conversions and "love jihad."
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of the RSS's Pratinidhi Sabha, celebrating 99 years of the organization and planning for its centenary next year. Hosabale mentioned initiatives called "Panch Parivartan," focusing on self-reliance, social harmony, family values, environmental awareness, and civic duty.
The RSS continues to expand its outreach, with over 72,000 branches active across different areas, showing a rise in community involvement. The organization is also helping in natural disasters, demonstrating its commitment to social service.
