Terror Attack in Ganderbal: Search Operations Underway in J&K

A large search operation is ongoing in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district as security forces are hunting for the terrorists responsible for the attack on Sunday.

The attack took place at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway. A doctor and six workers were killed when terrorists struck the area. The victims included three laborers, a manager, a mechanical engineer, and a designer, all of whom worked for a construction company.

The terrorist group known as The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Search Efforts Intensify

Top police and army officials are on the scene, leading the search for the attackers. According to those injured, two terrorists were involved in the attack. Five injured victims are being treated at SKIMS Hospital in Srinagar.

Authorities are working to identify the attackers. One officer mentioned that no local militants are suspected in the area, hinting that the attackers could be foreign terrorists.

Condemnation of the Attack

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah strongly condemned the attack. He expressed his sadness over the violence against non-local workers who were working on an important infrastructure project in the Gagangir area of Sonamarg. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he said, "I strongly condemn this attack on unarmed innocent people and send my condolences to their loved ones."

The manhunt for the attackers continues as officials work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.
