Toxic Manager Tells Employee 'Only Death is Excused' After Car Accident

Having a mean or uncaring boss can make work unbearable, and for one employee, things went from bad to worse when his manager completely ignored his situation after a car crash. A screenshot of their conversation has gone viral, showing just how heartless some managers can be.

Manager Shows No Empathy After Crash

The text exchange began when the employee sent his boss a photo of his car, which was badly smashed after a serious accident. But instead of showing concern or asking if the employee was okay, the manager coldly replied, "Let me know what time you expect to be here."

The next day, when the manager still hadn't heard back, they sent another message. "I understand why you would be late, but at any company, anything that stops you from being at work — except a death in the family — is unexcused."

Outrage on Social Media

The post has blown up on social media, with nearly 11 million views. People are furious at how heartless the manager's response was. One user wrote, "Managers like this scare me. Is your life that miserable?" Another shared a similar story: "I told my boss I had Covid, and he said he didn’t believe me."

On the other hand, some users pointed out that not all managers are this bad. One said, "At my last job, my boss asked if I was alright and told me to let him know if I needed anything. It costs nothing to be kind to people."
