A truck rammed into a bus stop near Tel Aviv, injuring 35 people. The Israeli police called it an attack and said the driver was an Arab citizen of Israel. The crash happened close to the Mossad intelligence agency’s headquarters in Ramat Hasharon, northeast of Tel Aviv, just as people were getting back to work after a holiday week. Six people are reported to be seriously hurt.
The attacker was “neutralized,” according to a police spokesperson, without confirming if he had been killed. The Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised the attack but did not take responsibility.
Another attack also took place in the West Bank, where a suspect tried to drive into Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint and then attempted to stab them before being shot and killed by soldiers. No Israeli soldiers were hurt in that incident.
