Zomato co-founder and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, has started a new company called focused on health tracking and mental wellness. The website Continue.com is still secretive with little information available, but it’s being called "The Ultimate Health Tracker."
The company is registered as Upslope Advisors Pvt Ltd and was created in April this year. Along with Deepinder Goyal, two other Zomato employees, Akriti Mehta and Simrandeep Singh, are involved as directors. Ashish Goel, who used to work at Zomato and Blinkit, will also join the team, though his role isn’t clear yet.
Goyal made it clear that Continue is his personal project, separate from Zomato’s main businesses like food delivery, Blinkit, and Hyperpure. He shared on social media that Continue is his personal health and wellness team, and he’s funding it himself. According to him, working with the Continue team feels like going to the gym. He added, “We’re working on new ideas, and I hope we’ll be able to share them with the world one day.”
Deepinder’s Focus on Health and Longevity
This new project fits with Goyal’s interest in extending human lifespan and improving mental health. Continue is expected to eventually cover areas like sleep tracking, nutrition, and preventive health. It might become a big health platform in the future.
Goyal is already an investor in another health startup called Ultrahuman, which makes wearables like the Ultrahuman Ring. This device helps track things like sleep, heart rate, and temperature. Goyal first invested in the company in 2021 and now owns more than 8 percent of it.
Deepinder’s Fitness Journey
In August 2023, Goyal shared his personal fitness journey. He revealed that he lost 15 kilograms over four years. He said, “In 2019, I started focusing on my health just as much as I do on my work. Nothing extreme, just being consistent.” He believes that good physical health is the key to being a high-performing individual.
In the same post, Goyal also announced the appointment of a Chief Fitness Officer for Zomato to promote fitness within the company.
Zomato's Other Health Ventures
Other former Zomato leaders are also passionate about health. Co-founder Gaurav Gupta launched Gabit, a smart ring and wellness platform, and raised $9.5 million for it. Similarly, another Zomato co-founder, Pankaj Chaddah, started Shyft, which offers personalized wellness solutions and raised $6 million.
Zomato's Growth and Competition
Although Zomato entered the food delivery business later than its competitors, it has grown rapidly and is now the number one player, ahead of Swiggy. Zomato is expanding its businesses and recently planned to acquire Paytm Insider.
Meanwhile, Swiggy is preparing for its IPO, one of the biggest in recent years, with plans to raise over $1.4 billion. Swiggy is expected to list on the stock exchange in November, making the competition between Zomato and Swiggy even more intense.
