Ajit Pawar Urges Baramati Voters to Support Him in State Polls After Supriya Sule’s Victory
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, on Sunday, November 3, 2024, urged the people of Baramati to back him in the upcoming state elections, just like they supported his uncle, Sharad Pawar, in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Referring to his uncle as “saheb,” Ajit Pawar expressed gratitude for Supriya Sule’s win from Baramati and asked for similar support in the state assembly elections on November 20.

Ajit Pawar, who is running for the Baramati assembly seat, said, "You made saheb happy by voting for Supriya in the Lok Sabha elections. Now, make me happy by voting for me in the assembly polls."

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Supriya Sule, daughter of NCP founder Sharad Pawar, secured a big win, defeating Ajit Pawar’s wife, Sunetra Pawar. Ajit Pawar and several NCP leaders had joined the BJP-Shinde government in 2023, causing a split in the party.

Ajit Pawar is up against his nephew Yugendra Pawar, who is the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) candidate, supported by Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule. Ajit Pawar, during his tour of Baramati’s villages, also mentioned that he had ensured water supply to Baramati by "bypassing rules."

"I went out of my way to make sure Baramati got water, even when it wasn’t allowed by the rules. Many villages still face water shortages, but I made sure Baramati didn’t," he said, while addressing the local villagers.
