BJP Accuses Rahul Gandhi of False Claims
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The BJP claims that Gandhi made false statements during a speech in Maharashtra on November 6. Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal led a delegation to meet election officials about this issue.
What Did Rahul Gandhi Allegedly Say?
According to the BJP, Rahul Gandhi accused them of trying to destroy India's Constitution. He also said the BJP and RSS only select university leaders from their own group, regardless of their qualifications. The BJP also stated Rahul Gandhi claimed items like Apple iPhones and Boeing planes were made in other states instead of Maharashtra to its loss.
BJP’s Concerns
The BJP alleges that Gandhi's comments could create division between Indian states and even incite young people in Maharashtra. They believe his statements are harmful to the unity of India. The BJP has requested that an FIR be filed against Rahul Gandhi for these claims.
Why is the Complaint Important?
BJP feels Gandhi is breaking the Model Code of Conduct, in place since October 15, 2024, in Maharashtra. They argue that his words are baseless, aiming to divide people based on place, caste, and religion, just to gain votes in the state elections.
