A MiG-29 fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed near Agra on Monday, November 4, 2024, during a routine training flight. The pilot managed to eject safely and avoid any injuries.
According to an official statement, "The MiG-29 encountered a technical malfunction during the training sortie. The pilot ensured the aircraft steered away from populated areas, preventing any damage on the ground before ejecting safely."
The IAF has launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the malfunction. The IAF operates several upgraded MiG-29UPG fighter jets, which have been key components of its fleet since their procurement from Russia.
The incident highlights the importance of regular maintenance and safety measures, but due to the quick actions of the pilot, no lives were lost or property damaged.
