Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Summoned by Lokayukta Police Over Land Allotment Case

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Faces Lokayukta Inquiry in Land Allotment Case!"
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been called to appear before the Lokayukta police in Mysuru on November 6, 2024, for questioning in connection with alleged irregularities in a land allotment case. The case involves the allotment of compensatory sites by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to his wife, Parvathi.

The Lokayukta police have filed an FIR naming Mr. Siddaramaiah as the prime accused (Accused No. 1) in the case. The inquiry revolves around the controversial 50:50 ratio scheme, through which 14 plots of land, totaling over 38,000 sq. ft., were allotted to Ms. Parvathi. She is listed as Accused No. 2 in the FIR.

Ms. Parvathi's brother, Mallikarjunaswamy, who had gifted her the land in Kesare near Mysuru, and Devaraju, the person who originally sold the land to Mallikarjunaswamy, have already been questioned by the authorities. The land was used by MUDA to develop a residential layout. However, Ms. Parvathi later returned all the allotted plots to MUDA, totaling 14 sites, amid rising scrutiny over the land transaction.

A notice has been issued to Mr. Siddaramaiah by the Superintendent of Lokayukta police, summoning him to their office on Dewans Road, Mysuru, for further investigation.
