Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US President Joe Biden during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Modi called his meeting with Biden a “delight.”
Before this, they met at the Quad Leaders' Summit in September, which also had Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japan's former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. They also spoke briefly at the G7 Summit in Italy in June. In August, they had a phone call to discuss important topics, including recent events in Bangladesh.
During his trip, PM Modi arrived in Brazil after visiting Nigeria, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Nigeria in 17 years. Upon landing in Rio, he was greeted by Indian community members who welcomed him with traditional chants. Modi’s trip will conclude in Guyana, marking his second South American country on this tour
