PM Modi Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Ratan Tata, Remembering His Legacy

PM Modi’s tribute to Ratan Tata highlights his lasting impact on India’s business, youth, and charity, honoring his humble leadership, compassion, and patriotism

One month after the passing of Ratan Tata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a heartfelt tribute, honoring Tata’s impact on India’s industry, society, and young entrepreneurs. PM Modi said the nation feels a deep loss for Tata, who passed away at age 86 on October 9. “Everyone, from business leaders to young entrepreneurs, feels his absence,” Modi shared. Tata inspired many with his blend of kindness, success, and humility.

Ratan Tata: A True Leader in Business and Life

Ratan Tata was one of India’s most respected business leaders. Leading Tata Group, one of India’s largest companies with over $100 billion in revenue, he made a big impact worldwide. Tata Group became known for its honesty and credibility under his leadership, yet Tata remained humble and down-to-earth, PM Modi added.

Empowering Young Entrepreneurs

PM Modi praised Tata for supporting India’s young entrepreneurs and helping build India’s startup ecosystem. “He saw their dreams and believed in their potential to shape India’s future,” Modi said. Tata’s investments in new ventures encouraged many to take bold steps, sparking a culture of innovation and progress in India.

A Love Beyond Business

Tata’s compassion reached beyond the boardroom. PM Modi highlighted his love for animals and his support for animal welfare causes, calling him a man whose kindness extended to “all living beings.” Tata’s actions after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks also showed his patriotism, as he quickly reopened the Taj Hotel as a symbol of India’s unity and strength against terrorism.

Modi’s Close Bond with Tata

PM Modi recalled their strong relationship, noting how they had worked together closely over the years, including in Gujarat. He shared how much Tata’s presence was missed during the recent opening of an aircraft complex in Vadodara, a project Tata had started years before.

Commitment to Cleanliness and Healthcare

Tata was also a strong supporter of Modi’s Swachh Bharat (Clean India) Mission, understanding the importance of hygiene and sanitation for India’s growth. Just before his passing, Tata shared a heartfelt video for the mission’s anniversary. Healthcare, especially cancer care, was also close to Tata’s heart. Modi remembered how they had recently opened cancer hospitals together in Assam, with Tata expressing his wish to focus his final years on healthcare.

As PM Modi described, Ratan Tata’s legacy is one of compassion, vision, and love for India. He wanted business to make life better for everyone and hoped for a society that values every person’s potential. “Generations will remember him for making India a kinder, stronger, and more hopeful place,” PM Modi concluded.
