Terrorists Attack Migrant Workers in Kashmir's Budgam — Two from UP Injured, Stable After Hospitalization

Terrorists injure two workers in Budgam, J&K; both stable. PM Modi vows no tolerance for terror, praising J&K for rejecting violence. Full story here.

On Friday, two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, identified as Sufiyan and Usman, were shot by terrorists while working on the Jal Jeevan Project in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack occurred in the Mazhama area of Magam in central Kashmir. Officials confirmed that both men were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.

This incident is the latest in a series of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier this week, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) group targeted an ambulance in an Indian Army convoy in the Akhnoor sector. In a counter-terror operation, security forces neutralized three terrorists suspected of planning a large-scale strike using routes associated with the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) group. Intelligence reports indicate the terrorists had entered Akhnoor via the Battal area, and a seized wireless device confirmed their JeM links.

The region has witnessed other recent violent incidents. On October 24, an attack on a military vehicle in Baramulla led to the deaths of two soldiers and two civilian porters. Days earlier, on October 20, seven individuals, including a doctor and six construction workers, were killed in an attack on a tunnel construction site along the Srinagar-Leh national highway.

Addressing the nation on National Unity Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas event in Gujarat, stated firmly, “Terrorism will not be tolerated.” He praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their support of unity and democracy, declaring, “Today, on National Unity Day, I salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir for rejecting separatism and terrorism.” He also emphasized that those behind terrorism would not achieve their goals in India.
