On Saturday, a violent attack on a security check post in Balochistan province resulted in the deaths of at least seven people, including security personnel. Additionally, ten others were hurt in this terrible incident, which took place in Kalat district.
The banned group, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), said they were behind the attack. So far, officials from the provincial government and law enforcement have not shared any details about what happened.
After the attack, people across Balochistan complained about problems with their internet connections. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced that mobile internet services were temporarily turned off in some areas for security reasons. They took this step to keep people safe because of an increase in terrorist activity.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed their sadness over the attack and paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
In recent days, attacks by separatist groups in Balochistan have become more common. Just last week, a suicide bomber killed at least 27 people at Quetta Railway station.
