Will Meghan Markle Leave the U.S. Over Election Results?

A royal commentator claims that Meghan Markle might be considering a move away from the U.S. due to the recent presidential election results. Meghan, who has been open about her dislike for Donald Trump, may feel uncomfortable staying in America if he becomes president again.

Charlotte Griffiths, the Editor at Large for the Daily Mail, told GB News, "Meghan will be really upset if Trump returns as president. She’s publicly criticized him, calling him a misogynist on television." With this in mind, Griffiths suggested that Meghan may start thinking about leaving the U.S.

Trump and the Sussexes have clashed in the past, with Trump criticizing Prince Harry and Meghan for their treatment of the late Queen. Trump had also mentioned in a past interview with Nigel Farage that he wouldn’t offer any “special privileges” to Harry. He even hinted that Harry might face consequences for admitting to drug use in his memoir Spare, which stirred up a lot of attention.

Why Meghan and Harry Might Move to Portugal
Rumors are already swirling that Harry and Meghan could be planning a move. Griffiths pointed out that Harry recently bought a house in Portugal, saying, “With Trump back, that Portugal home might come in handy for them.”

Trump has said that he would not protect Harry if any issues arise. There has even been a legal battle where The Heritage Foundation tried to make certain documents about Harry public, though a judge ultimately ruled to keep them private. However, Griffiths hinted that if Trump takes office, these documents could eventually be exposed.

Eric Trump’s Take on the Sussexes
While the talk around Harry and Meghan's future in the U.S. intensifies, Eric Trump, Donald Trump's son, recently told MailOnline that his father “doesn’t give a damn” about Prince Harry. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams also suggested that Trump probably wouldn’t take drastic action against the Duke.

Fitzwilliams noted that Harry’s drug admissions in Spare were unwise, and while Trump could technically cause problems, Fitzwilliams believes he wouldn’t risk a major incident by expelling Harry from the country.
