Akshay Kumar Confirms Stree 3 Release Date and His Role!

Akshay Kumar is back in the spotlight! He will star in the third part of the popular film series, Stree 3, which also features Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. Dinesh Vijan, the producer, jokingly called Akshay the ‘Thanos’ of their funny horror movies.

Recently, Maddock Films announced that Stree 3 will hit theaters on August 13, 2027. During a fun event for another movie, Akshay made a joke about working with Dinesh Vijan again, saying it’s his ‘dedh’ (one and half) time collaborating with him.

When asked about joining Dinesh’s horror-comedy family, Akshay said, “What can I say? Dinesh and Jyoti will have to decide that. They’re the ones putting up the money.” But he hinted that he is excited to return, saying, “And Amar Kaushik needs to direct it.” Amar Kaushik directed Stree 2, which was a big hit in 2024.

Dinesh Vijan confirmed Akshay is part of the project, laughing, “Of course, he’s part of the universe! He’s our Thanos.”

Last year, Stree 2 became one of the biggest hits due to surprise appearances by many stars. Akshay made a surprise cameo as a character named Chandra Bhan, who is a funny, crazy grandfather. He is found in a mental hospital and thinks he is the Mughal emperor Shahjahan. His comical role included wearing a blonde wig and interacting playfully with the main characters, which left the audience wanting more. The film ended by hinting that Akshay will take on a bigger role as a supervillain in the next installment.
