Test: A Heartfelt Cricket Story with Nayanthara, R Madhavan, and Siddharth

S. Sashikanth’s new Netflix movie, Test, stars Nayanthara, R. Madhavan, and Siddharth. It tells a heartfelt story about life and cricket. Cinematographer Viraj Singh talks about how everyone worked hard to make this film great. He sees it as a group effort.

In an interview, Viraj explains why he chose to work on Test. After studying at the University of Washington, he decided to become a cinematographer because it let him create things and travel. He has worked on many projects over the past 20 years, including commercials and films.

Viraj shared that friendship played a big role in his decision to join this project. He met Sashikanth at a music festival and liked the script of Test. He appreciated Sashikanth’s teamwork approach.

Since Test includes a lot of cricket scenes, Viraj and his team researched how to film cricket matches naturally. They visited live matches, talked to people who cover these games, and learned how to capture the action well.

Unlike most films that are shot out of order, Test was filmed in sequence. This helped the actors grow into their characters. By the end of the film, the actors were performing at their best.

Viraj loves working across India. He acknowledges that the South Indian film industry supports technicians well. He also shared his desire to explore production, mentioning a short film he made called Where is Kashmir.
